Gastown Vocational Services (GVS) is proud to provide a range of vocational and educational services to both youth and adults who have a mental health disability. Our services include career planning, assessment, group or one- to one work readiness skill training programs, specialized pre-employment workshops, work experience placements, job coaching, and supportive employment and supported education services. In addition to our staffing of occupational therapists, psychologist, life –skills coach, job coaches and job developers, we have recently added Peer Support Workers to enrich our inter-disciplinary staffing compliment. For over seventeen years GVS’s focus and goal has been to improve an individual's employment skills and strengths, encourage education and to promote vocational and functional independence. GVS now offers a youth program for clients age 16 –30 and an adult program for clients over 30. Our education and employment programs support our clients in achieving their vocational goals, including part time and full time training, education, employment, and/or volunteer work.
